Presented as part of an ongoing collaboration between The Institute for Art and Olfaction and Smell Lab, the Experimental Scent Summit is an annual gathering where invited speakers share research and ideas in an informal, friendly setting.
Do you want to present your ideas at ESS 2025? Now is the time to send in your proposal!
We are limiting the slide shows this year to five slides only (not counting the introductory slide), and the presentations to ten minutes.
We are interested in the following proposals:
Overview of personal or academic research
Overview of a personal or historic arts practice
Overview of a technology-based project
An experimental performative approach
Surprise us!
What we are not looking for:
Promotional presentations of self or company
We encourage people to bring scents to share with the audience, but we cannot accommodate larger scent broadcasting systems like HVAC or etc.
